Liana

A photosession on a late summer afternoon at the lakes nearby, with the most patient model I have ever worked with: my sister.
She has been with me from the start of my photography journey, bravely enduring my experiments and more or less crazy ideas, providing me with constructive criticism, as well as with heart-warming appreciation. Besides this, she has always been supportive of our Eastwest initiatives, no matter how unrealistic they might have appeared a while ago, eventually becoming our very own PR agent. :)
There goes a big, fat Thank You to her along with the promise (or threat) of a soon-to-come studio-strobe-lit photosession.

Stained windows, rain and scent of hot steel

Having studied in a remote city, I had already a good share of travels with the rail, but in just three years after meeting Oana, I have spent more time aboard the train than all the years before combined. There is a special affection I have for them now. They allowed me the pleasure of getting to know a whole different world. An exotic world of wonderful culture and tradition. They allowed me to meet the kindest people and have a great time with them visiting and exploring the most amazing places, while letting those wild and shy three-year-old dreams slowly take shape. The East experience surpassed even the most far fetched hopes and desires I have ever had. At the moment, trains offer me a chance to be close to my love and to the world she lives in.

Another important part of this travel experience have always been my parents, my dear brother Mitja and his lovely girlfriend Natalija, who have my eternal gratitude for the patience and willingness they present, whenever I bust into their room at 2 AM and shake them out of their sleep, panicking about missing the train (their alarm clock gains at this unearthly hour the power of spontaneously switching itself off :P). And even though there are other means of getting to the train station, having their support makes things far easier and less complicated.

In my travels to the East and back I have gathered thousands of images and there will be at least two more posts with photos from different trains and train stations. The next will include mysterious Budapest underground. *knees shake*

An afternoon at the playground

On a delightful September afternoon I had the pleasure of taking a walk in the park with Dana, one of my best friends, and her sweet baby boy, Jamie.

Even now, after almost two years, I still find it hard to believe that the girl who became my friend 17 years ago and with whom I used to talk for hours and hours about music, soccer, school and... well, all kinds of teenage "stuff", is now a mother.

As you will most likely notice, Jamie is a true eye-candy, all smiles and curls, making a photographer's task easy - when it comes to taking beautiful photos, but so hard when the photographer has to select only a few (to post on a blog :D).

Thank you, dear Dana and Jamie, for bearing with me and my camera. I can hardly wait for the next photo-session!
